As I said in the last post we went from the water park to Elko on Thursday night and then Friday morning we got up and headed to Klamath Falls, Oregon for Randi's cousin Lusann's wedding.  We had a little bit of free time before the wedding on Saturday so we hit up the Klamath County Fair.  It was a BLAST!

Now that we are parents we get to do the kid stuff without people looking at us like we are weird.  So we stopped by the kid corner and made some dirt babies.  They are pretty much homemade chia heads. You put dirt and some grass seed in a knee high and then glue on a face, put it in a cup of water in the sun and watch the hair grow.

Then it was off to the wedding.  It was toasty, but beautiful.

There were a lot of toasts at the wedding.  Before they started my younger cousins passed out cups to everyone.  We got really excited when the cups said Coors Light on them so even though we were only drinking sparkling cider we needed to have a little fun.  Here is a picture of our "bartender" :)

Sunday morning we got up bright and early to drive all the way back to Utah (it is about a 12 hour drive).  Alden did really well in the car, thank goodness.

We had a great time with the Norton family even though it was a lot of time in the car and a pretty quick trip.  After we got home Monday night we had just two and a half days to get ready to leave on our next trip to San Diego...

A Buzz In The Air

Holy Smokes! Where has August gone?  We have been busy this month so get ready for a lot of posts. We went on a couple of vacations, but before we left we enjoyed some local activities.  First up Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point for 2 Buck Tuesdays.  Farm Country is a petting zoo that Alden and Randi went to with some friends.  THey rode the tractor :)

Then they checked out some horses.  Alden did pet one, but was a little intimidated by its size.

The day after the petting zoo we went to the Bees baseball game.  The Bees are the AAA affiliate of the Anaheim Angels.  The best part was it was free, another activity thanks to our pass of all passes.  Cass and I went to a Bees game for our first date so we try to go to at least one game a year and after 4 summers we are excited to announce they finally won a game that we attended!!!!!  Alden had a special outfit for the occasion.  Notice the Bee mascot by his leg :)

Alden hadn't really napped all day so he was very tired and spent a lot of the game like this.

The day after the baseball game we went to Randi's work party at Cowabunga water park (no pictures, we didn't want the camera to get wet) before heading to Elko that night to start on our first vacation...

6 Months!

The last 6 months have gone so fast!  They have also been full of lot of learning adjusting and fun.  This whole post is going to be about Alden and how much we love having this little boy in our life.  I wanted to document some of his accomplishments and general cuteness so that we don't forget just how fun this age is.      

Putting in his binky all by himself, it is upside down, but he has mastered the skill now.

At his 6 month appointment the doctor said he was perfect, and we couldn't agree more, even with his large head :) (he is a little under average in weight and a little over average in height, but in the 90% for head circumference)

Alden has started rolling over like a pro, but sometimes forgets that when he doesn't want to be on his tummy any more he can just roll to his back.

He sleeps at least 8 hours at a time at night (if we are not in a tent)

He loves riding in the car.  He will get really excited to talk to himself in the mirror and kicks his legs in the car seat to show his excitement. 

Alden loves to play in front of the mirror in the bathroom. 

And he loves water and bath time every night.

His favorite toy is currently a book that talks and plays music.  

He loves to eat and thankfully is not picky.  So far he has eaten only vegetables and cereal, but there is nothing he hasn't liked (although he didn't love peas).

We love watching him learn new things, like how to put his binky in, and just discovery the world around him.

He is overall a happy boy that smiles a ton and gets really excited to see mom and dad.

Alden plays well by himself and has recently started talking a lot.  And I mean a lot!  He babbles dadadada over and over.  It is so cute because his mouth will move a few times before any sound comes out.

We love this little boy and are so grateful he has been healthy so far.  Here's to 6 more months :)
