Pioneer Day at the Lake

Pioneer Day 2016 was spent with the traditional camping with Taylor Family.  This year we went to Bear Lake again.  We always have fun here and this year was even better because tried out some new things. Dane couldn't make it so we brought Treygann up with this. On the way there Treygann needed a bathroom break and anything he does Alden does too.  I will probably get killed for this picture later, but I think it is so funny.

 

 One of the new things we did was visit the National Oregon/California Trail Center in Paris Idaho.  We made a day trip out of it so after touring the museum, which was really fun by the way, we hit the local park to get some wiggles out before heading back to Rendezvous Beach State Park.

Then there was some of the usual stuff, such as spending time at the beach and playing in the water.

And seeing the Juanito Bandito play at the Pickleville Playhouse.  Grandma bought all of the grand kids mustaches so they could be just like  Juanito.  Alden loved this and wore it for the entire show.

Even Gracie seemed to really like the mustache, she wore it for mush longer than we anticipated.

There was also the traditional stop in Garden City for raspberry milkshakes.

Time spent just hanging around the campground (I wish we had another wiggle car, they fought over this so much).

And another new place we tried this year was Bloomington Lakes.  It is a small really easy hike past two little lakes to a third pretty large lake.  This quickly became one of our new favorite places.  It wasn't too crowded and there were a lot of really neat things to see.

At the camp gound all of the older cousins had bikes and Alden felt a little left out so when we got home we decided it was time for the boy to have a bike.  This is what he picked out and here he is trying it out for the first time.  He isn't too sure of it yet, but I think with time he will come to appreciate the joys of bicycle riding.
